 Well, personally I'll try to stay clear of things like this, but some people might want to take a first look into the new Temeraire novel. Suvudu.com has posted the novel's third chapter, for free. I'll hold on for a few more days, since "Tongues of Serpents" will be released on July 13th. Early reviews promise that this will be another great installment in the series.

Two weeks ago I wrote about the Suvudu Cage Match where Temeraire is one of the contestants. And he really made it to the quarter finals! Only now he has to face Jaime Lannister or rather George R. R. Martins dreaded fan base, which - due to an excellent essay by the author - even managed to kick mighty Cthulhu out of the race. Well, Naomi Novik knows about Martins (rightfully) huge fan base and now has written her own hilarious short story about how Temeraire and Jaime could meet on even grounds. That alone should be enough to assure victory for Temeraire, shouldn't it? Vote here now!

Suvudu.com is conducting a series of duels between popular Sci-Fi and Fantasy characters. Our beloved Temeraire is under the contestants and today he must fight Haplo from Tracy Hickman's and Margaret Weis' "Death Gate" cycle. Shouldn't be too difficult. Anybody can help deciding the match, so go to Suvudu.com and vote for your favorite characters! Temeraire's biggest obstacle will propably be Cthulhu in the quarter finals - but at least we can let him reach that.
